Shameless Lego Drive
I love Lego. I love following the instructions and watching as the bits and pieces come together and magically form a monkey or a digger or a monster. I also love just creating whatever out of the pieces available.
There's not a big range of Lego in Hobart. And I need Lego. So here's what I'm going to do. Have a Lego Drive. Post me one or two (or more if you're generous) bits of Lego in an envelope, and then I'll build an ongoing structure/creature of awesomeness from the pieces I receive, and take photos and post updates. How about it?
Thanks!
If you don't know my home address, just email me and I'll tell you. :)

You can't spare a piece?

It's quite expensive these days. People even sell second hand lego on ebay.

Too right, Bron. I saw this awesome dino set with 3 different kinds of red dinosaurs at ToyWorld, and it was 40 bucks, so I didn't get it. I went back when I was a bit more cashed up and it was gone! And now I can't even find it on Lego.com. Maybe I should try ebay.

You can maybe borrow my lego if I can have it all back when you are done. There is quite a bit though so maybe I should number each piece?

My ultimate dream job has always been designer of exhibits for the big travelling lego shows.
Sounds like you would agree.

That would be awesome Tony! I remember being awed by the magic of the traveling one that come to Hobart when I was in primary school. The different scales where fascinating - model ships, a sea side village, almost to scale mermaids. Come to think of it, it must have had a nautical theme. Does anyone remember that one?

no, but I remember when the monks came and did butter sculpture and sand mandalas - they were pretty amazing.

I used to LOVE the Lego exhibits! I think they held one upstairs in Fitzgeralds (now Harris Scarfe). It was all pirates and boats. I loved it sooooo much. Ahhh, good days. All my lego is in two big boxes at home.

Yeah, that's the one Angus! It was so cool! I loved it too.

I believe I have the brochures from that show, they're in the lego basket at your house. It was a dream job of mine too, though I don't think I ever got to go :(

Shi I still have the catalog from that sea theme exhibit. I took you kids to see it. It only happened once in Hobart, part of a travelling show from Sydney.

I remember going to Harris Scarfe to see the Lego Pirate display: It was about 6 or 7 rooms full of life size pirates, pirate ships etc... ( well life size for a 7 year old)...
