A Wee Update
This entry will be very short because I'm at Southborough's public library and there is of course a line for the computer (Americans love their lines), so there is the pressure to be brief.
By the grace of God I arrived safely at L'Abri, although I have suffered culture shock and I think my sense of homour is starving. It's quite difficult living in close proximity to strange, new people (Americans at that) but I'm getting used to it and enjoying the different way of relating to people. I will talk more about this later when I have time.
In other news I am discovering Os Guiness. More on this later too.
I'd appreciate your prayers - that I would seek to serve the other students, that I would learn much and have my mind sharpened, and that I would be patient with the Americans. ;)

hmm ... interesting ... line-obsessed and humourless americans ... bad combination

Good luck Shy! Maybe you should watch some Jay Leno to get an idea of American humour ;)

...and practise explaining everything a lot...
I mean that a lot of American humour depends upon extensive explanation of whatever's 'funny'
(example above) :)
I'm praying shiloh. We miss you. If you want a taste of home I'll be posting some photos of a trip to Mt Field later in the week ( when the internet speeds up again-we over did it again)
love you!

What are American cats like? Have you met any yet? I hear they're pretty highly strung... or is that just in NYC? I'd love to network with some stateside cats, so point them towards my blog if you meet any. Kate, my houseperson, says that she'll remember you in her prayers. I won't. I'm a cat. I don't pray. Although, being a particularly awesome part of God's creation, I reflect His glory without even trying...

Hey there its been entertaining reading about your adventures Shiloh, hope the L'abri-ans are hospitable and welcoming. A note on the console screens; they can become "social" if you elect to play the network battleship function and thus form a profoundly meaningful relationship with someone else on the plane in the context of a computer game.

Apparently Miss Shyborg went to America and either eloped, got kidnapped or amnesia and was never heard from again.
