Crossroads

I'm at a moment of decision. Should I return on the 30th of December or on the 27th of January? I have no in-between choices - all flights are booked right through January. I do feel a tinge of homesickness, and that tinge is endowering all things back home with a divine glow. That's just how my messed-up mind works; if I don't have it I want it, if I have it I don't want it. So being home in January seems nice right here right now, but from memory, January is a dead month. Everyone goes off somewhere else, and nothing is the hap. Kind of depressing.

So I might as well take part in the exodous, and not be around in January (even though it would be so much warmer and sunnier... ahhh), and for once I'd get to have a social life in that cursed month, even if that social life doesn't extend much further than Seth. On the other hand, finding enough places to stay for over a month could prove difficult...

Hmm, what do my readers think I should do? What's everyone doing in the Sunny-Gloomy month? What's the hap?

In an ideal world everyone would be contained in Tasmania and Seth would be flying back home with me. Sigh.

  • The choice is yours. Most people have to work and it can be a drag just hanging around anywhere including the US. (You don't want to wear out your welcome.)And we miss you of course. Maybe if you came home you could add to your depleting bank account. :-) We have just enjoyed our first day in Bangkok.

  • dpWill you be grumpy with homesickness for the next month if you don't come home?

Or will you be able to put aside the homesickness and enjoy your time in the USAiiii?

If you can do the latter, I say stay. But if January is going to suck because you want to be at home, then make Anna Paquin and Fly Away Home.

  • I miss you, so think you should fly to Melbourne and stay for a few days :)

Or leave the US and A earlier and come meet us in Goh Samui (southern Thai Islands) for a few days :)

Or persaude that boy of yours to come with you.

  • Seth, I would love to spend a few days in Thialand with you and Emily, but it kind of is a bit out of the way and possibly not financially doable.

I've made up my mind, and I'm staying. One of the deciding factors is that Seth is working heaps until the 28th, so I'd hardly get to see him anyway. Seth loves Midnight Oil, so if I get homesick I can listen to his CD's and watch We Can Be Heroes clips on YouTube. I also have a phone card which hasn't had much use, so maybe I'll make a couple of mystery calls...

Thanks for y'all advice though! Muchly appreciated.

  • Are we allowed to ask if Seth is coming to Australia? Oops I guess I just did...

  • You can ask anything you want. :)

Seth would like to come to Australia, but he needs to save up for it, which he is doing.

  • Um. i don't quite understand you decision. Even tho the Sherminator is working and you won't see him, you've decided to stay? That doesn't make sense.

Koh Samui is cheap (comparitively), if you were worried about cost, and how out of the way is it? Do you have an around the world or just a return flight from US and A?

Mum and Dad are currently with us here in Chaing Mai, great to see them again.

BTW did you get my email?

  • PS
